Continue to innovate in services, the social networking giant, Facebook will present the latest features. It is indicated on a new patent filed by Facebook. In those patents Facebook looks to position itself as an alternative to Uber. As reported by Business Insider U.K, Facebook has designed a ridesharing platform features through their Events.
Apparently, Facebook will compete with Uber in the field of transportation. The latest features of facebook can arrange a carpool or using the vehicle together so as to minimize the use of private cars. In addition it allows people who attended the same event, such as festivals or opening of the cafe.
Users or visitors to the event will be able to act as driver and record how many people can ride the car. Then they can invite passengers directly or match with common interests. After carpool made, the driver will get a route or a map of Facebook.
Although it does not offer similar services with Uber, but Facebook's features could impact the lack of interest for use Uber or other transportation services. However, the patent is still not guarantee whether Facebook will actually apply it. Facebook has not confirmed about the new features.
