How it works Remote Control

In general, there are two types of remote control: IR (infrared = IR), and radio frequency (radio frequency RF).

IR remote control works by sending infrared waves to the electronic device, while RF remote controls work the same way but using radio waves.

Among these equations, the biggest difference between the two is about the range. IR remote control can work well if there is no barrier to a distance of 9.14 meters sekitart's reach.
On the other hand, the RF remote control can be through a wall with a range of about 30.48 meters.

Remote Control IR
Many electronic devices in the home such as a stereo set and the television using the remote control IR.
The remote control contains an internal circuit board, processor, and one or two Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).
When pressing the button, the remote sends the appropriate code to the receiving device.
The basic idea is somewhat similar to blink SOS signal, the difference, the remote control sends a series of codes 1 and 0.
"1" is represented by a wave beam in a long time, while "0" is a shorter beam.
Recipient of an electronic device and then translating this digital code to activate the function intended.
Some kind of remote control can be very finicky, requiring the user to steer directly to the electronic device.
This is due to a weak infrared emissions. This problem may be overcome by replacing the new battery.
However, the problem could be caused by a weak transmitter is sending a signal.
To overcome this problem, many manufacturers are producing remote control with dual LEDs.
Remote Control RF
Garage door openers, alarm systems, and radio control toys in general use RF remote controls.
RF remote control has basically the same principle with the IR remote control.
The difference is, instead of the infrared beam, the RF remote control using radio waves.
Radio waves can penetrate walls with jangkaun further.
Some high-end entertainment systems also use RF remote control to enhance the user comfort and increase the range.
